2026.08.0307:17:36UTC+00DAX 40 Hits Record High as Falling Oil Prices Lift Market Sentiment

Frankfurt’s DAX 40 climbed more than 1% to a fresh record high of 25,910 points in the first trading session of August. The advance was driven by a sharp decline in oil prices, which boosted risk appetite by easing worries about inflation and further interest rate hikes. Crude prices fell on hopes of renewed US–Iran negotiations after President Donald Trump said talks would begin on Monday, although he did not set a deadline for reaching an agreement.

Sentiment was further supported by largely positive corporate earnings and an ongoing rebound in global AI-related stocks. Company-specific news was relatively light ahead of a busier earnings schedule later in the week. Stabilus gained more than 1% after detailed quarterly figures confirmed its preliminary results, while E.ON added 1.5% following a Jefferies upgrade to “Buy” from “Hold” and a price target increase to €22.70 from €17.40.
